Yanni born on November 14, 1954 is a Greek keyboardist and composer. He was born in Kalamata, Greece.Yanni is a self-taught pianist who began his musical career by giving recitals for family members. Early in his life, he was also a competitive swimmer in Greece and set a national record in the 50-meter freestyle competition. He later attended the University of Minnesota and earned a B.A. in psychology. After graduation, Yanni chose to try a career in music, although he could not read music and had no formal training. Using his own form of musical shorthand, he began writing original works.Yanni's compositions have been included in all Olympic Games television broadcasts since 1988 and his music has been used extensively in television and televised sporting events. In 1997, he become one of the few performers allowed to perform at the Taj Mahal, India. His most recent live concert film, Yanni Live! Ultimate Yanni - A Collection Of Albums From The Maestro This post contains all songs from Yanni's official CD realeases. You may find many other CD's in online shops, but many of these are merely Album Compilations made by the record company for profit. Yanni himself supports only these albums from his official website.
There are 18 full albums in all, of which 'I Love You Perfect', 'Steal The Sky' and 'Heart Of Midnight'are OST music. (i.e Original Sound Track recordings - movies for which Yanni composed the score)
Please note that 'Live at Royal Albert Hall' album has been ripped from the concert video and that you won't find the official CD for this album anywhere. There are only 4 and 1 songs in 'Reflections Of Passion' & 'In Celebration Of Life' album solely because these are compilation albums, containing songs from Yanni's previous releases. Only the given songs were specially composed for the album and the others have been avoided as they are nothing but repetitions from earlier albums. However, in other albums certain songs may seem to be repeated, but these being no repetitions, are new versions of earlier tracks.
The archive 'Special Variants & Creations' contains somerare creations from albums that were either never released, out of print, or special edits.
